The Spathroom: 5 Steps For The Perfect Bath

Creating a tranquil oasis at home

As a brand, we are drawn to the idea of bathing as a ritual - so much so it inspired an entire Earl of East line. There is something enchanting about the act of submerging yourself in water, letting it cleanse not only your physical body but also your mind.

We live in a fast-paced world that often glorifies routines, and while routines bring structure and efficiency to our lives, they can also become monotonous and devoid of meaning. Rituals, on the other hand, are an intention that elevates an ordinary act into a sacred experience.

Bathing in particular, has become a treasured ritual of ours personally; a time to disconnect from the external noise. So we thought it was about time we shared our top tips to the perfect bath, as you transform your bathroom into its own tranquil oasis. Aka, the 'spathroom.'

1. Dedicate a Specific Time

For us, bathing is a regular Sunday evening appointment in our home. It’s seen as a reset before the new week begins and it allows us to make the most of the earlier finish that Sunday retail hours provide. The regular appointment might seem like a routine but this is something we very much look forward to.

2. Set the Scene

As you prepare a bath, try lighting some candles, we love taking a long bath by candlelight as it really helps you to tune out. Or, try an essential oil diffuser and fill your space with the aroma of a spa.

3. Choose Your Potion

Elevate your bath with our Onsen Bath Salt, letting the aroma fill the air, to create a soothing ambiance that instantly calms your senses. Just remember to fully fill the bath before adding a generous handful of the salts, that way you get the most benefit from the therapeutic essential oil blend.

Alternatively try adding our Shinrin-Yoku All Over Oil. It’s a one-step product for your skin and will leave you feeling nourished and relaxed.

4. Time is of the Essence

Dedicating a good moment of time is important to getting you bathing ritual just right. Between 45-60 mins much like an exercise class is the perfect bathing time slot; but even a 20 minute soak will give you enough time to de-stress. Allow the warm water to envelop you in a cocoon of tranquility and carry away the tensions of the day.

5. Cancel out the Noise

To really allow for reflection and de-stress keep it tech-free, and better still everything free. With the lights low and scents in the air the art of bathing can become very meditative. Whilst taking you may find yourself drawn to self-reflection and introspection. The bath becomes a place of contemplation, where you can explore thoughts and emotions and de stress from the or the week just passed.

Sounds for Relaxation
