5 Day Date Ideas in London
In need of inspiration for a great day date? We’ve come up with some ways to spend a day with someone special - whether that be a significant other, a good friend or in your own wonderful company.
1. A stroll down the South Bank, finishing with wine & cheese at Gordon’s
Zig zag across bridges along The Thames, or explore as you like - perhaps take in a performance at the National Theatre or catch an exhibition at the Hayward. Then, head across to Embankment for wine and cheese at Gordon’s Wine Bar, a vaulted, candlelit cellar that is said to be London’s longest standing wine bar.
2. Spend a morning or afternoon around Victoria Park
Anointed The People's Park, Victoria Park is deservedly adored by East Londoners for its vast greenness and social history. Often bustling, there are tranquil spots to be found. The beautiful Village is adjacent, and perfect for shopping, or for a leisurely lunch or dinner.
3. An architectural walk around Liverpool Street then onto Crispin for a glass of organic wine
With the opening of the new Elizabeth Line, it's much easier to explore some of London's finest architectural sites. From the Walkie Talkie building to Lloyd's of London we put a complete guide together not long ago. Once you've completed your walk, stop by Crispin and enjoy their menu of delicious small plates and wine.
4. Cinema & dim sum in China Town
Visit the Prince Charles Cinema is a much loved independent gem, hidden just around the corner from Leicester Square and showing a very mixed bag of cult movies, indie films and blockbusters. Follow a matinee showing with a sharing of dim sum at one of Chinatowns many restaurants - we like Golden Dragon, but please share your tips with us on your favourite spots.
5. Explore secret gardens, shops & restaurants in Kings Cross, and maybe a walk along the canal too
Home to our Kings Cross Store, Coal Drops Yard is a great day date spot for exploring independent and luxury retail, restaurants, bars, outdoor markets, and some beautiful architecture and gardens too. Seeing it all in a day could need a guide - we’ve put together our essential spots for your enjoyment.
