5 Ways to Create a Welcoming Hallway Space
The home decor & scents to impress
From finding a scent your visitors will remember you by, to easy seasonal swaps; we share our tips on how best to curate a welcoming hallway space for you to enjoy just as much as your guests.
1. Scent
The most powerful sense to evoke feelings and memories, choose your favourite scent that your visitors will remember you by. Light a candle for a cosy ambience or opt for one of our home mists for an instant lift.

To create a longer lasting aroma, we think essential oil diffusers work best. Place a few drops of your essential oil with some water in your diffuser of choice and let it fill the space.
Tip: Our Greenhouse home mist is one of our favourites for the hallway. Loved by most, it's a fresh and slightly sweet scent ideal for creating a welcoming atmosphere.
2. Light
The Big Light can often be a bit too harsh. Choose table or floor lamps to create a more welcoming space to enter. Mirrors are ideal to reflect light around a hallway space. For maximum impact, place them on the wall opposite your lamp or window.
Tip: Keep your hallway lamp on a timer and have it turn on just before you walk in the front door.
3. Green Life
Flowers or plants, bringing nature inside never fails to give your space an instant uplift, we think. Choose the perfect pot or vase to compliment your greenery. Not that into plants? Pick out some green accessories to bring this colour in.

4. Storage
Practical and pleasing on the eye; use storage pieces to hide away your running-out-the-door essentials, whether that’s keys, shoes, or the dog’s lead. For a hallway bench, we love Aykasa’s stackable colour crates for under seating shoe storage.
Tip: Stack up the colour crates and put a flat surface on the top. You’ve got a 2-in-1 storage and side table.
5. Colour & Considered Design
Practical items don't have to be boring. Show some personality (and seasonality) by switching out your hallway accessories. Treat yourself to something new or simply swap about the decor around your home.
