A World Beyond the Music: Our Collaboration with Aurora

Experience the world of Aurora, beyond the music.

For the release of her deluxe album What Happened To The Heart?, we collaborated with Aurora on one of our signature scents.

Something that feels as grounding and atmospheric as the world she’s created.
Earl of East interview with French artist and illustrator Marylou Faure
For an immersive exhibition being held in London's Covent Garden, Aurora chose Strand as the scent to accompany the experience, as well as being able to purchase the custom-packaged incense at the event.

One of our signature blends, Strand is a grounding mix of mandarin rind, seaweed and birch wood.
It’s fresh, earthy and energising, much like Aurora’s work.
"Scent is such a magical thing because it can take you anywhere because some things your nose knows better than your mind.
This smell does me good"
At Earl of East, we've always believed that scent has the power to deepen connection.
To evoke memory, nostalgia and emotion.

Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with artists and musicians whose work inspires immersive worlds, far beyond what you see or hear. From custom scents created with Annie Lennox, Olivia Dean, Bon Iver and more, to now working with Aurora, these partnerships are about translating the atmosphere of an artist into something immersive and inviting, in the space of your own home.
When we work with musicians, we often find that the way they describe scent mirrors how they talk about sound. With layers, emotion and atmosphere. There’s a natural overlap between the two: both can transport you, both are tied to nostalgia and memory and both help build a world around a feeling or time.

In creating scents with artists, we’re not just creating a fragrance.
We’re translating mood into something tangible.
Whilst the scent already lives on Aurora's website as incense, it's now become a part of her exhibition; diffused throughout the space, grounding visitors in her world of costume, storytelling and sound.

Whether you're joining in person or following along from afar, this collaboration invites you to experience the artist through scent, a lasting reminder of a moment in time.
