Sanoy | 'Earth Centre' Original Artwork

Yonas Duches (b.1991) also known as Sanoy is a London-living Tufting artist. Born to an Ethiopian family and Raised in the north of Italy, Sanoy approached the world of Rug Making in the middle of the pandemic.

A complete autodidact, learnt the craft through Youtube’s tutorial videos and started making his first pieces after experimenting with different materials.

Sanoy’s idea of framed rugs originates from the desire of creating pieces that will last in time just as if they were paintings. Artwork to be displayed and touched and not to be used as ordinary rugs.

The variety of his work is often linked through the use of bold palette choices, and strong yet harmonious overlapped shapes that are completing a defined space, often embellished with the use of external elements such as beads.

Sanoy’s admiration for African art often leads him to his choices of colours and has inspired him to create his signature collection of masks.

Yonas is also a musician, Dj and record collector with a lifelong passion for music - specifically African Jazz, Funk, Disco and Classic House.

These various interests are complementary within the soul of his art, defined by him as playful and experimental.

Re-delivery 
If your parcel is required to be re-delivered to you more than once, there may be additional shipping costs for the re-delivery. We will contact you via email to arrange before hand.
